DevOps Engineer
Sacramento, CA

Scope of Work:
The DevOps Engineer shall provide technical expertise for the development, implementation and management of tools and solutions that will drive continuous improvement around performance, reliability, availability and scalability of Client infrastructure.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring on automation strategies to subject matter experts on multiple teams.
- Develop infrastructure and deployment systems based on the services team’s need for delivering solutions in a timely manner.
- Manage application build and deployment pipelines, meeting a variety of application deployment patterns.
- Use strategies like infrastructure-as-code, continuous integration/delivery and containerized development to ensure our environments are auditable and easy to replicate.
- Develop automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications.
- Create automation with third party tools like Terraform, Helm, CI/CD tooling and bespoke scripting where appropriate.
- Drive the integration of monitoring tools for improvement, tuning and identification of issues.
- Create and maintain performance/availability monitors, and alerts, report systems health as they relate to a given services team.
- Ensure the platform operates within our security and privacy guidelines.
- Actively participating in solutions, processes, and technology discussions as they apply to infrastructure.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for performing maintenance tasks, applying configuration changes, and remediating problems in our environment.
- Provide knowledge transfer (KT) to Enterprise Services staff to build skill to be able to maintain cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines. KT methods include, but not limited to: Virtual or in-person learning sessions, on-the-job-training (OJT), job shadowing and creation of job aids and training materials.
- Solve complex business problems by providing technical advice and project solution alternatives.
- Work with stakeholders to facilitate the improvement/re-engineering of business processes to align with technology needs.
- Facilitate the elicitation of requirements/use cases/user stories with subject matter experts and manage through the requirements lifecycle.
- Create and present reports to provide system information to District and college executives and other stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have five (5) years of experience working within the AWS, Azure or Oracle cloud in a DevOps role leading the design, build, and operation of highly consistent, secure and scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Must have four (4) years of experience in design and implementation of automation CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code, working with tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub, GitLab, Artifactory, Splunk and Terraform.
- Must have three (3) years of experience working with container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes.
- Must have three (3) years of experience working in an Agile environment and or Scrum practices.
- Must have two (2) years of experience working on projects involving organizational change management and IT Service Management process improvement utilizing ITIL practices.

Cloud Solutions Architect

Scope of Work:
The Cloud Solutions Architect shall provide IT/Cloud Solutions Architect expertise in the areas of design, deployment, and migration of systems for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. Responsibilities include: identification and selection of appropriate cloud services based on requirements and constraints, has deep subject matter expertise, and can evaluate new technologies for fit in current infrastructure architecture.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to systems analysts, IT cloud engineers, and other systems architects.
- Lead the development of the Client’s existing IT on-prem and cloud architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio.
- Develop and manage an IT cloud infrastructure capacity plan.
- Lead the development and communication of a cloud technology standards policy.
- Conduct research on emerging cloud technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
- Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT cloud infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
- Lead the design, development and oversee the implementation of end-to-end IT cloud integrated systems.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have seven (7) years of experience in IT architecture and/or solution delivery in a large scale enterprise.
- Must have five (5) years of experience leading the design, build, and operation of highly consistent, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure on at least one of the major cloud platforms (Azure, Amazon, Google).
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing cloud infrastructure operations in areas of deployment, runtime, security, load balancing, autoscaling, troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a lead capacity aligning customer requirements.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working on projects involving organizational change management and IT Service Management process improvement utilizing ITIL practices.

Software Developer

Scope of Work:
The work consists of systems development, implementation, and modernization services for our client's systems. This includes the consolidation of systems, integration of systems for improved data sharing, and/or the expansion of the existing systems to support other program areas for the client.
The position requires detailed knowledge of, and experience with, designing, developing and testing techniques supporting large software development and COTS product implementation projects.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Responsibilities include analysis, design, development and testing of software requirements of web-based applications and release planning. Working alongside other technical team members using modern development tools, techniques and methods to construct and deploy user-facing interfaces including all aspects of server-side processing, data storage, and integration with frontend development.
Mandatory Experience:
At least eight (8) years of experience within the last ten (10) years working as a Software Developer with large organizations, leading and participating in the technical implementation of
software/systems/applications automating complex business processes, which must include:
• Designing and Developing web-based applications using Microsoft .NET and associated technologies such as ASP.NET.
• Designing and Developing web-based applications using MVC architecture.
• Developing Web Applications using C# using Object-Oriented Concepts.
• Developing User Interface for web applications using jQuery, JavaScript, HTML and XML.
• Developing Testing Utilities for web applications to aid in Unit and System Integration Testing.At least eight (8) years of experience within the last ten (10) years working as a Software Developer leading and participating in the technical implementation of software/systems/applications automating complex business processes, which must include:
• Designing and Developing web-based applications using Microsoft SQL Server and associated
technologies.
• Understanding and interpreting the data model of an existing application. Writing SQL Queries
performing complex tasks on the database including database stored procedures containing complex joins as well as grouping and sorting logic.Three (3) years of experience designing and developing user-friendly public-facing user interfaces.
Three (3) years of experience designing and developing web-based user interfaces for collecting and managing data requiring user authentication.
Two (2) years of experience developing web applications with interactive data summarization and visualizations.
One (1) year of experience complying with ADA for public facing web pages.
Three (3) years of experience serving as a developer on web-based software implementation projects involving integration of commercial and open-source solutions.
Three (3) years of experience writing technical documentation and user guides.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working as a Software Developer leading and participating in the technical implementation of government-related software development projects.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related fields from an accredited or government-sanctioned college/university.
- Experience with the deployment and configuration of web applications on Microsoft IIS Server and related technologies.
- Experience involving working knowledge of database administration tasks pertaining to the deployment and configuration of multi-tier web applications with Microsoft SQL Server as the backend.
